restoration — revitalisation
Original features were uncovered during the renovation which were carefully restored and reinstated. These were juxtaposed against contemporary fixtures and fittings, creating a neutral backdrop for future tenants.
Bespoke joinery pieces were designed throughout the flat, utilising previously underused spaces.
The bathrooms were replanned, and a Japanese soaking bath incorporated, acting as a space saving measure and adding an element of luxury to the property.
This apartment in the upper ground floor of a Victorian house in the Kilburn Conservation Area, had fallen into disrepair following decades of benign neglect.
The apartment was intended to be rented out, so the budget was an important consideration, and the finishes and materials had to be stylish, but robust enough to withstand the rigours of rental tenancies.
